Patient Care
Endocrinology Clinic
This clinic attends to the needs of patients with internal gland hormone secretion problems such as those of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenals, and gonads. In addition, the division holds highly specialized clinics providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and care for patients with osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity and cholesterol/lipid abnormalities.
Faculty see out-patients by referral on a regularly scheduled basis. Faculty members are available to see referrals on an emergent (the same day) or urgent (following day) basis at the request of the referring physician. It is the policy of the division to see all referrals within one week of the referral. If the referring physician wishes a patient seen on an urgent or emergent basis, this need should be made known at the time of the referral to the Office of Referrals and Appointments.
All members of the Division of Endocrinology see patients with problems of endocrinology or metabolism. Most members of the faculty have special clinical interests and expertise beyond that of the usual sub- specialist. The profile of the faculty members indicates those special interests.
Referrals: Patients with diagnostic or management problems in endocrinology
are welcome by referral. Referring physicians should send current records,
X-rays, blood work-up, etc., prior to the patients' appointments. Direct all
referrals to the Office of Referrals and Appointments (501-686-8000).
